Metal Options
Our jewelry is only manufactured in the highest quality and alloys of metals based on European standards (which are much more strict than US standards and are nickel free) with a minimal noble metal content of at least 75%*. All of our jewelry is available in our custom alloy of surgical implant grade hypoallergenic 316L stainless steel, nickel free 18kt. gray gold, 950 palladium, 950 platinum, and a custom alloy of heat treatable hardened 950 Platinum. Upon special request we will manufacture our jewelry pieces in any alloy, karat or color of gold and sterling silver.
Special notice: you will note that we manufacture in silver only by special request. It is our position that most silver jewelry is mass produced at substandard levels. As you may or may not be aware most mass produced silver jewelry has a "blackening" process performed on the recessed areas within the pieces. This process is done to hide the imperfections of the metal inherent in these pieces such as porosity (pitting) that is so prevalent.
Silver is also very soft and misshapes, dings, scratches, dulls and scuffs way too easily. Silver is also notorious for oxidizing (tarnishing) very quickly, as well as not being able to withstand heavy ultrasonic cleaning without adverse affects on the metal surface.

Metal Surface Treatments
Our jewelry is available in any finish or mixed finishes that you could desire from mirrored high polish to our hand applied silk satin finish utilizing old world European techniques and everything in between.
Surface coloration. At Atelier Gothique we do not believe in using chemical blackening processes that are applied to the recessed areas of mass produced jewelry to hide the metal imperfections. Our jewelry is manufactured to such a high level that this is not an issue. When we add surface coloration it is a design attribute to the piece. We never use enamel paints or plastics nor do we use or condone the use chemical coloring processes as this is a short lasting inferior process. Our inlay / coloration is available in all colors and is achieved in one of two ways:

Always Gemologically sound. All of our diamonds and colored gemstones are personally sorted, matched, accurately graded and selected by our staff Gemologist who is a world renowned Award Winning Senior Gemologist Appraiser & Instructor.
White Diamonds:
None of our white diamonds are enhanced in any way. We do not condone, nor do we use any clarity enhanced or color enhanced white diamonds, no fracture filling, laser drilling, coating, irradiation, or HTHP (High Temperature High Pressure) treated diamonds are ever used in our jewelry.
All of our diamonds (.35 carat and larger) are accurately weighed, measured and graded based on AGS (American Gem Society) standards. All of our large diamonds .50 carat and larger come with a full laboratory grading report. We specialize in Ideal and super premium cut diamonds and our large diamonds are available in every size, shape, color, clarity, and carat weight to fit every budget and are more competitively priced than what you will find in brick and mortar jewelry stores.
Unlike the diamond melee (under .35 carat) that consumers are used to seeing in jewelry stores, we take quality very seriously and believe in raising the bar. Our diamond melee is all super premium cut to Ideal and Near Ideal standards. Our standard clarity and color for our pieces are VS2-SI1 Clarity, G-H color with an option of upgrading to our + Premium Collection of VS1-VS2 Clarity, G-H Color or our + Super Premium Collection of VVS2-VS1 Clarity, E-F Color.
Black Diamonds:
All black diamond's commercially available on the market today have be subjected to HPHT (High Temperature High Pressure) or Irradiation. All of our black diamonds are HPHT only and are available in every size, shape and weight available.
Ruby
Ruby is one of the standard gemstones used in the production jewelry of Atelier Gothique. Our small Ruby melee are all precision custom cut for us in round brilliant and princess cut diamond faceting arrangements, unlike the native cuts found in typical jewelry today. All of our ruby melee is of pre-ban Burmese origin, from the Mogok & Mong Hsu mining regions and is of the finest quality. Our ruby melee has been subjected to standard heat treatment only. None of our ruby has been subjected to surface diffusion, bulk diffusion with beryllium, impregnation of dye, or glass cavity filling which is all too common in today's market place. All of our large ruby is available from all origins in both heated and non heated form and are accompanied by a full gemological grading report.
Blue Sapphire:
Blue Sapphire is one of the standard gemstones used in the production jewelry of Atelier Gothique. Our small Blue Sapphire melee are all precision custom cut for us in round brilliant and princess cut diamond faceting arrangements unlike the native cuts found in typical jewelry today. All of our Blue Sapphire melee is of Sri Lankan (Ceylon) and Madagascar origin and is of the finest quality. Some of our Blue Sapphire melee has been subjected to standard heat treatment only. None of our Blue Sapphire has been subjected to surface diffusion or bulk diffusion with beryllium which is all too common in today's market place.
All of our large Blue Sapphire is available from all origins in both heated and non heated form most of which have been cut by America's top award winning Gem Artists and are accompanied by a full gemological grading report.
Fancy Color Sapphire:
Fancy Color Sapphire is one of the standard gemstones used in the production jewelry of Atelier Gothique. Our small Fancy Color Sapphire melee are all precision custom cut for us in round brilliant and princess cut diamond faceting arrangements unlike the native cuts found in typical jewelry today. All of our Fancy Color Sapphire melee is of African origin and is of the finest quality. Most of our Fancy Color Sapphire melee has not been subjected to any form of enhancement. None of our Fancy Color Sapphire has been subjected to surface diffusion or bulk diffusion with beryllium which is done to almost 95% of all sapphire sold in brick and mortar jewelry stores today.
All of our large Fancy Color Sapphire is available from all origins in both heated and non heated form most of which have been cut by America's top award winning Gem Artists and are accompanied by a full gemological grading report.
Black Jade:
The carved black gemstones that form the center pieces of our custom work are not black onyx which is always dyed to make it "Black" but rather 100% natural untreated Jade mined in the United States and carved by America's top award winning Gem Artists.
